Light drips through the blinds, the plastic is cracked and brittle. I sit outside myself, watching days turn to nights, nights to ages, and ages back to nights. I have been stuck in this room for the past four years. I, I relive this day with each and every painstaking breath. My heart beats in a series of frantic measures. The pale floor is spinning out of control; this chair is my anchor, my throne. The needles are eating me alive, every part of me is screaming. The passer-bys just keep on passing by. In slow motion I feel them as they tear through me. I am sick of reliving this day. This smile has grown old. The world moves around me so quickly, yet I am stuck in the same place… rotating forever in time. Tombstones surround me, I Am ill, terminal. I watch this generic TV programming as it fades into static.
The curtains begin to fall, the final countdown is here. The I.V’s pump full speed, my past, my future, my name and face, it all begins to disappear. Death is near. I have never been so happy, to move on, to return to the earth as a seed, to complete the cycle…

Forever the pouring rain will remind me that I am still alive, I am grateful for everyday that I wake up. Living life with no regrets, moving forward every day, memories are the only thing in this life that never die. So please keep my memory alive, when I am gone, just close your eyes and I will be there by your side. Let me survive in your heart. The days roll on as we inch closer to death. I swear ill take our stories of youth to the grave. This is a love that I will never feel again in this life or the next. I am happy with how the cards have been dealt so far, and when I leave, know that I never left you. Let me survive in your heart, because this is where I belong.

I rose from the ashes to a darker sky. They said the light would shine with time, and it has. The darkness was a shelter for far too long. Knowing true beauty is a feeling to be had. It warms your soul, it stops your breath, it captivates thought and time. Don’t you ever take this life for granted. Love is precious, something to be had, don’t sit and watch life pass you by. Every moment is special, especially this one. Seize the day, never give up, you will make it through. The answers lie ahead. To take you in, to bring you love, to guide you through your sorrows. There is a light at the end of every tunnel, and as I near the end I finally understand. Freedom was all I ever wanted, and now it’s mine for eternity. Break these shackles, free yourself.
